Greyfriars Pipes and drums was founded in October 2005 by members of :-

284^th Glasgow Boys’ Brigade (Barlanark)

94^th Glasgow (1^st Shettleston) Boys’ Brigade

67^th Glasgow Girls’ Brigade (Barlanark)

We are a Youth Pipe Band based within Barlanark-Greyfriars Parish church

Membership of the band is open to young people aged between 11 years and 19 years

The Band meets on Thursday evenings at the church

Since we were founded , we have played at local gala days and fairs in the Barlanark and Shettleston area.

We have also played at our own company BB/GB displays.

This session we took part in our first competitions. Boys’ Brigade members of the band took

Part in the Glasgow Battalion Pipe Band competition coming 3^rd. Then they took part in

The BB Scottish Band competition winning 1^st Place in the Mini-Pipe Band Novice event.
